My half finished instructable. I am having trouble adding the modification that I want. When i tried, it started burning so I disconnected right away.
Instructables Update
I have ordered my parts for my instructables and am now waiting for the parts to arrive so I can figure out what I need to do.
Intervention Project
Our project proposal was to create an emphasis on something people see and “use” everyday. We had a few options or ideas we had came up with but eventually we came up with using our “throwies” (LED’s) on a STOP sign to illuminate the significance of safety and use of the signs. Our initial idea was the original “throwie” with the attached magnet but the magnet would not stick to the sign iteself; so therefore we resulted to duct tape (what else) to complete our process. We hope that this idea could possibly brought into the real world with solar panels and LED’s and would keep people’s attention on the road… HOPEFULLY!

Prep of all items.

All 50 batteries we used.

The trash from all 50 batteries.

The LED’s used for out sign.

The project outline.

Magnets wouldn’t work so had to come back and tape ALL.

The final Outcome.

Instructables Proposal
I have an iPhone and my battery always runs down, especially when i’m at work. My proposal is to make a portable USB charger or portable solar power charger for my phone. I’ve seen these online and always wanted one so maybe if I make one and show how, everyone can do it. The changes I want to make are, smaller design, clean. Put an on switch so it doesn’t drain battery. An a recharger.
Week 4 was fun. We made noise machines and I added an extra touch point so it would make better sounds when touched. Here is the video of the final product.
Week 3 Blog
Week 3 was a good week.
-I learned how to solder
-I took apart a toy only to find a TON of circuits I had no idea what to do with.

-I really loved soldering and I hope to get better at it in the future.
Week 2 Blog Entry
The second week of class was more fun than the first. On tuesday we got our breadboards and played around on those to learn what they do and how our circuits could flow. We messed around with our new toys and then made a circuit with LED lights.
On Thursday, we got a little more complicated with our circuits. We learned and built about different kinds of circuits and mad a blinking LED board that we then later soldered together. I didn’t get to solder mine because we ran out of time but I am a little nervous about soldering this week because i have never soldered before. All I can do is try my hardest and hopefully it will turn out great. We shall see…
Week 1 Reading Response
After reading the first PDF titled “The Electronic as Post-optimal Object,” I took it as out of all electronic devices, we do not know as much as we should about where they are evolving. However, we are a lot farther along now than they were back in the 1940’s. My favorite part of the chapter was in the Dematerialization section when they were talking about machine intelligence. I agree completely that “machine intelligence will serve to make the environment more efficient and more intelligent so that it will be able to respond more dynamically and interactively to human beings.” Now, I am in no way saying that machines are going to go all terminator on the world and kill everybody, but having machines predict weather, earthquakes, and things that will help our lifestyle can’t be a bad thing. This technology is so new to us that it can only get better in the future as machines get more powerful and we learn more about how to use that power.
Week 1 Blog Entry
The First week we had our introduction to the class and worked on throwie lights and circuits with getting lights to work. The throwie lights were really fun to mess with. I tweaked my design to where the light would light up only when stuck to things to preserve battery life. I bought all my supplies through amazon for cheap so i should be ready to go for the second week.
